Novel technique to use jute waste fiber as blend component with polyester
Every day 2-7 % of fiber from a jute spinning system is renamed as disposable wastage although it has a sufficient spinnable property to manufacture a desired characteristic yarn like cotton. The main purpose of this study is to use waste jute fiber effectively, in order to keep the jute industry sustainable. For this goal waste jute fibers were examined as a blending component with polyester (PET) fibers because of their short length and tapering ends. 11 yarns of different fineness and blend ratios were produced through blending polyester and waste jute fibers. Among all blend ratios and yarn fineness; 20/1 Ne and 20/2 Ne yarn at PET/J 70: 30 blend ratio show a very interesting yarn quality.
