If there is such a thing as paradise on earth for food and foodservice lovers, this is it: Eataly. First opened in January 2007 near Turin, the marketplace for speciality foods combines a premium retail experience with first rate food-service and an educational mission. After successful ventures into other Italian cities and Tokyo, founder Oscar Farinetti brought Eataly to New York City this summer. We visit the Turin pilot store. www.eataly.it
