Forschende des ITA, der Uni Bonn und der Heimbach GmbH entwickelten eine neuartige Methode, mit der Ölverschmutzungen energiesparend, kostengünstig und ohne Einsatz toxischer Substanzen von Wasseroberflächen entfernt werden können. Ermöglicht wird dies durch ein technisches Textil, das in einen schwimmenden Behälter integriert wird. So können mit einem einzigen kleinen Gerät bis zu 4 l Diesel innerhalb einer Stunde entfernt werden. Dies entspricht etwa 100 m2 Ölfilm auf einer Wasseroberfläche.
