The ITMA 2023 motto, "Transforming the world of Textiles," showed even before the start of Europe's leading trade fair for textile machinery what challenges the textile industry will face in the coming years. In short, a transformation. In particular, the leading themes, digital transformation and sustainability or recyclable products, were taken up by almost all 1,709 exhibitors. The more than 111,000 visitors were presented with opportunities and solutions to become part of the transformation. Only through joint efforts is it possible to achieve the transformation to a better future and to solve the urgent social problems of the present. The trends and innovations observed in the field of spinning are presented below. Due to the large number of process steps and machines in the yarn spinning, the innovations and trends can only be reported in excerpts. In the last issue of Melliand International, the area of spinning preparation was discussed in detail.
