Staying Focused
In the Middle East, the love for pizza is as strong as in most places of the world. The popularity of the Italian flatbread which in this region is usually served American style has constantly risen in the last 20 years, and the market is still growing. Among the top players in the QSR category is Domino’s Pizza, the world’s second largest pizza chain. Since its foundation in 1960 and the opening of its first international outlet in Canada in 1983 the US-company now boasts more than 10,000 stores in more than 70 markets worldwide. In the Middle East, the home delivery specialist has more than 220 stores in 11 countries, all of which are operated by the chain’s regional partner, Alamar Foods. Bettina Quabius reports.
